Windsor Island

Windsor Island is an island located along the southeastern coast of Keltia, currently part of the Mala Free Nations Territory, a tribal government under the purview of Lac Glacei. The capital is the town of Dianaville. The island is also home to military bases owned and operated by the Imperial Federation; Chi-Nam and Saigon Bases. Formerly a province of the Federal Republic of Cyberia, it has a mild climate which makes it a popular tourist destination. During the First War of Cyberian Liberation, Windsor Island were claimed by U.P.E.C., which never formally relinquished its claim. During the Second War for Cyberian Liberation several of the Islands favored ProvoCyberia, and so became part of Free Cyberia. Prominent citizens from the Cyberian period include Tomaz Painn, Joseph Smith and John Lenin.

After its early interlude under Cyberia, Windsor then changed hands several times over the years. Chronologically, it passed first to Interland, then Attera and Mayo before briefly being overtaken by Sino-Keltians who established Chi-Nam. Chi-Nam was, in turn, colonized by New Brittania, who called it Moi Mien Nam. Around 1500, the island was retaken by Cyberia again during a brief but prosperous revival, who returned the old name of Windsor. Although by now the island had become a hodgepodge of different cultures. From thenceforward the island's history would be irrevocably tied to that of Mala when it became a First Nation.

Windsor originally consisted of two islands, with the larger island eponymously named Windsor and the smaller island off the eastern coast called Sandringham. Due to fluctuations in sea level and unstable geology - most of the island was sand - Sandringham began to subside early on and was forced to be evacuated. The village of Dillon was moved to Windsor Island and all that remains today of Sandringham is a series of rocky shoals and the Sandringham Lighthouse.
