Liga Mataba (abbv as LiM) is the only professional football league in the Dauian region of Mataba. The League was founded in mid-August to promote football in Mataba and bring more Matabese player overseas and is the core part of the Matabese Football Project.
The League runs from late March to late October in the same year with the league cup at the end of the season to determine the champions of Mataba.
History
Opening Season
The LiM's first edition will be the 2023 Liga Mataba with 6 teams confirmed to be playing this season with signups still open.
Format
Competition
There are 6 clubs in the league who play each other twice in a double round-robin system throughout the course of the season, once at home and once away. Teams receive three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a loss. Teams are ranked by points scored, then goal-difference for tie breakers. If there is still a tie, the positions will be decided based on goals scored. If there is still a tie for relevant occupancies such as the league title, qualification to any competition, or relegation, a play-off will be hosted in a home and away format to decide league standings.
