The Lhusan Sharamli (Sanaman for national assembly) is the federal legislature of Sanama since 1703. The assembly consists of 1,750 directly elected Pehati Lhusan Sharamlili (PLS) who serve four-year terms. All members are elligible for recall by their constituencies. The Lhusan Sharamli meet for two sessions per year and delegates authority to its executive committees between sessions. However, the assembly can reverse any decision by any committee by a majority vote. Elections are free, secret and non-partisan, but elected members are free to form parties and other types of interest groups once elected. The Lhusan Sharamli elect the members of the various executive committees from within itself, as well as appoint judges to the National Judex. The committees in turn invite various interested parties into their membership on a temporary basis when new policy is to be made.
