Quick Start Guide
How to create a legislation page
Step 1: Prepare
Review the Constitution and search existing law for conflicts.
Step 2: Copy template
Scroll to your template (Proposed, Passed, or Failed). Copy everything inside the `<pre>` tags.
Step 3: Create new page
In the search box, type your bill's name (e.g., "Example Act, 1750"). Click "create this page" in the search results.
Step 4: Paste and edit
Paste the template. Replace all text in [BRACKETS] with your content. Delete comments inside `<!-- -->` tags.
Step 5: Preview and save
Click "Show preview" to check formatting. Fix any errors. Click "Save page" when ready.

Before you begin

This page provides standardized templates for drafting legislation articles on MicrasWiki. Before drafting any bill, please complete the following steps:

Step 1: Check constitutional authority

Review the Proclamation of Punta Santiago to confirm your proposed legislation falls within federal authority. Key provisions to check:

Article 2(5) - Lists matters under exclusive federal jurisdiction (foreign relations, inter-regional commerce, national taxation, defense, etc.)
Article 2(6) - Lists matters under shared federal-regional jurisdiction (education, healthcare, environment, etc.)
Article 35 - Treaty powers and ratification requirements
Articles 38-39 - Legislative procedures and requirements

If your bill concerns a matter not listed in Article 2(5), consider whether regional legislation might be more appropriate.

Step 2: Check existing law

Search Category:New Alexandrian Law to identify:

Laws your bill would amend or repeal (these should be listed in the infobox under "related_legislation")
Laws that might conflict with your proposed provisions
Similar failed legislation that might inform your approach

Write in encyclopedic, neutral tone
