Ukushu Pilsen

Ukushu Pilsen is a brewery located in the Ukushu district of Kipei. Founded in 1705, it is one of the oldest continuously operating beer producers in the region and runs two major facilities: its main headquarters in Ukushu and a secondary brewery in Sapporo.
The brewery is notable for its relatively thick tin cans and its wide variety of beer styles. Ukushu Pilsen is officially registered under the Frank Purity Law, ensuring adherence to traditional brewing standards.
In 1735, Ukushu Pilsen expanded into the sake industry by acquiring Aomori Sake Company, a well-established sake producer in Sanpantul. As of 1747, the company remains active in both beer and sake production, marketing its products domestically and to select overseas markets.
Varieties
Ukushu Pilsen produces several flagship beers, alongside limited-edition ales:
- Ukushu Sapporo: A pilsner beer brewed at the Sapporo facility, known for a subtle corn flavor.
- Ukushu Malt: A malt beer that had high carbonation until 1724, after which carbonation levels were reduced.
- Ukushu Feodal: A beer with a flavour profile reminiscent of Weihenstephaner.
- Ukushu Undertaker: A strong, orange-coloured beer with high alcohol content.
In addition to its main product lines, Ukushu Pilsen releases various limited-edition ale varieties, which are sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
