Regional Governor of Valencia
The Regional Governor of Valencia is the chief executive of the Region of Valencia within the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie. The Governor is responsible for the administration of regional government, implementation of laws passed by the Cortes Regionales de Valencia, and representation of Valencian interests within the federal system. The office was established upon Valencia's admission to the Federation in 1686 AN. The Governor is elected by popular vote to a five-year term and may seek re-election. Valencia, with a population of approximately 13.5 million inhabitants, is among the smaller Regions in the Federation but holds strategic importance as home to the royal residence of La Alborada in the regional capital of Chambéry.
The current Regional Governor is Francesca Morel of the Democratic Socialist Party, elected as part of the Alliance for a Just Nouvelle Alexandrie. Morel won the 1749 gubernatorial election in a landslide with 62% of the vote, defeating her nearest opponent from the Federal Humanist Party.
