United Kingdom of Drag'os

The United Kingdom of Drag'os and Northern Cibola is a rump state created from the former Holy Ralgon Empire after the 1705 Ralgon Succession Crisis. It is headed by High King Drae'gar Ral I and consists of a scattered set of coastal territories on Northern Cibola, including Nova Victoria, Yixing, and areas formerly belonging to Byalia before its collapse.

History

Ralgon Succession Crisis

A succession crisis over the next Emperor immediately sparked on the death of Emperor Shiro I of Ralgon. The pro-Adrestian camp argued for their child-aged candidate to take the throne by the name of Masamune IV and base him in Gondolin, away from the crippled imperial bureaucracy in Glacier City, that still struggled to hold the remnant of empire together at home while their colonies grew more powerful and independent. The pro-Drag'osian faction wanted a candidate chosen the traditional way: an election from 11 possible candidates from the late Emperor's household.

With the Ralgon Imperial Army occupying territories in the green, they pressed their own claim and announced to the public the expansion of the Ralgon Empire past its traditional borders as the Imperial Senate's right to continue governing. They had support from St. Mara, Valeria, and their environs. However, Glacier City ironically supported Adrestia's faction, despite still being the capital city. Thus, the Senate relocated to its old headquarters in Valeria, which was Ralgon's capital after Nobunag'an IV of Ralgon abdicated the throne in 1673 AN.
