The Toshaist revival in Sanama began in the late 1710's, leading to the creation of several Toshaist parties. The revival was a direct response to the victory of the Agrarian League and Sanaman People's Party in the 1719 elections, and gained momentum when the Party of Democratic Humanism was formed in 1721. Being in stark opposition to both the new government and the new humanist party, all parties shared a basic Toshaist ideology and differed only in the details, geography and leadership.
