The Timsar-e Ettelâ'ât va Amniyat-ē Kešvar (Director of Intelligence and Security for the State), known also as the Mystikos or Master of Secrets after an office inspired by the Constancian Crypteia owing to the influence of Alexios Melas, the founder of the Surenids secret service, is an official responsible for state security within the Ēurānshahr.

The expansive remit of the director includes all matters pertaining to espionage, counter-espionage, industrial archaeology and the study of foreign technology.

History

The main body subordinate to the Timsar-e Ettelâ'ât va Amniyat-ē Kešvar is the Sazeman-e Ettela'at va Amniyat-e Suren (Intelligence and Security Organisation of the Suren), a secret police and counterespionage service with a remit over the population and territory of the Suren Confederacy, which was established in 1709 AN with the passing of the Intelligence and Security Organisation of the Suren Act in that year by the Majles-e Suren.

With the formation of the Ēurānshahr in 1750 AN the post was redesignated as the General Presidency of State Security, thereafter reporting directly to the Council of Sovereigns.

In 1752 AN, the Žāndārmirī-ye Dowlati was reconstituted as the main public order force of the Ēurānshahr, subordinate to SAVAK and the Director.
