The Tala Mining Corporation, a subsidiary of the Honourable Company's Benacian Directorate, was established on 12.VI.1721 AN and headquartered at Tala in the Cimmeria and Raikoth Special Autonomous Region. The company mandate was to identify and commence with the commercial mining and extraction of rocks capable of yielding exploitable quantities of lithium.
The rapid growth of the technology sector in the Raspur Pact, driven by consumer electronics, military modernisation, and the maturation of the technologies required for a sustainable surveillance state, had resulted in the depletion of existing stocks of commercially available lithium, used for the production of battery cells, making the task of identifying and extracting new deposits of lithium yielding minerals an essential and lucrative one.
Raikoth, as a mountainous island trapped within the Boreal ice sheets whose native population was notoriously culture-bound and idiosyncratic, would present significant challenges to be overcome if mining operations were to be undertaken successfully.
