What is believed to be a devotional image of the Sovereign of the Dawn, from the pages of a destroyed grimoire recovered by the Magisters-Carnifex in 1716 AN.

The Sovereign of the Dawn is a suspected intruding entity, whose adherents have recently been discovered to be active in Elluenuueq.

The worship of the Sovereign of the Dawn is purportedly an ancient and secretive religion that has managed to evade detection for centuries, although the absence of prior attestation casts doubt upon this. The goddess is said to be a powerful being who possesses great knowledge and power, and is able to grant her followers access to forbidden secrets and hidden knowledge. She is often depicted as a beautiful woman with golden hair and dark, alluring eyes.

The followers of the Sovereign of the Dawn believe that she is the ruler of the night sky, and that she controls the movements of the stars and planets. They believe that by studying the stars, they can gain insight into the goddess's will and the fate of the world. The followers also believe that the goddess is able to grant them visions and revelations, and that she can speak to them in their dreams.

The religion demands dire sacrifices in return for the goddess's favour. The Sovereign of the Dawn is said to demand human sacrifices and the offering of valuable treasures. The victims of these sacrifices are said to be chosen for their beauty and purity, and are said to be sacrificed to the goddess in elaborate rituals. The followers believe that the sacrifice of such a pure and innocent life will bring them closer to the goddess and that it will grant them her favour.

The followers of the Sovereign of the Dawn are a secretive and elusive group, who are believed to be scattered across the Benacian Union, and possibly even beyond. It is believed that the religion is a small but powerful force within society, with many of its members being influential figures in politics, the military, and the Church.

The discovery of the religion by the Magisters-Carnifex has sparked a wave of panic in the upper reaches of the Blue Elwynn river valley, with many subjects now living in fear of the dark powers of the Sovereign of the Dawn, who has also been named by some sources as The Lady of the Dark Orchid. The authorities have launched an investigation into the extent of the religion's influence in society, and efforts are being made to root out its members and stamp out its practices.

Despite these efforts, it is believed that the followers of the Sovereign of the Dawn will continue to practice their religion in secret, and that the goddess will continue to exert her influence over the world through her followers. The true nature and extent of the religion remains a mystery, and it is likely that it will continue to be shrouded in secrecy and intrigue for many years to come.

How the cult was hitherto able to establish itself, prior to its discovery in Araxion, remained a matter subject to ongoing investigation. The best hypothesis which had emerged during 1716 AN was that the chaos unleashed by the Scouring had permitted cultists to spread their influence through the so-called Black Taverns which had been established on remote and forgotten roads in order to prey upon the displaced persons set in motion by the Great Treachery. Suggestions of a connection between the entity and Sisera, the incarnated Arch-Enemy of Humanity, have been dismissed as unsubstantiated by the available evidence.
