The Satyric Guard is the personal security force for the Emperor of the Natopians. The force consists of approximately 250 guards, assigned to either personal protection of the Emperor and selected people designated by the emperor, or to location security. Their duties are more closely aligned with that of a bodyguard than a security force. They are integrated into the structure of the Imperial Court of Natopia and thus under the direct command of the Emperor.

The guardsmen are native Athlonics, trained by the elite military force of that nation, the Holy Order of the Armored Goats. The Armored Goats were, in fact, the former personal guard of the Natopian emperor, that were sent on personal orders to invade and conquer the Lovelian colony of Psycotia, thus completely sidestepping the Frenzy's need to authorize the Natopian Defense Force to invade. The Armored Goats settled on Athlon and became that nation's military.

All Satyric guardsmen are genetically modified hybrids between humans and goats. A scientist of questionable morals and ethics was left unchecked in Hergon for many years before the new Pentheros, Sergius Hergones, was notified of the completion of a large project. Sergius was horrified to see the result of genetic experimentation, the goatmen. However, they were already fully trained, fully grown, and had the same mental and emotional capacities as any other human. Since there were only a hundred or so of them, and since they were so physically robust, Sergius decided that the perfect use for them would be to serve as the Natopian emperor's bodyguards.

The Dozan Bovic Church officially donated the contingent of over 200 guardsmen to the Natopian emperor, who in turn integrated the satyrs into his Imperial Court.
