Sargon Dummu-Gilgamesh Azulpolassar, or Sargon Azulpolassar II, is the eldest son of the four children of Praetor Sargon Azulpolassar of The Hexarchy, by his wife Mako Himeji, a Ralgonese socialite from Kobol. Sargon II is also the grandson of Gilgamesh II, and a scion of the House of Arumen. As of 1739, the heir-presumptive (Ibila in the local custom) to the Praetor is 37 years old.
Like his father, he was sent to study abroad, both in the Imperial Federation and elsewhere. He returned to the Hexarchy in 1727 AN to take high-level posts. He was given the title Prince and made Ibila later that year, a nod to a revived custom of naming heirs-presumptive to places of authority in that part of northwest Keltia, and sent to govern the mountain city of Naith for five years before retuning to Marduk to take a place as the Praetor's aide in the Council (another signal that he was to be the Praetor's replacement some day).
Since 1733 AN, he has acted as the official Praetorian Representative on the High Council, casting votes on behalf of the Praetor, having taken the place of his uncle Prince Imarru, who was sent back home to govern Arumen as its titular lord.
