The Ranentsian Independence Party (Ranentsian: Партия На Раненцска Независимост, Partiya na Ranenska Nezavisimost), also commonly known by it's syllabic abbreviation of Parane is an Aerlan big-tent political party active within the Ranentsi Autonomous Region. It's main goal is to advocate for Ranentsian Independence from Aerla.
History
The party was founded in 1729 AN by the merger of two small local political parties active in the RAO, the Ranentsian Local Coalition (Раненцска Местна Коалиция, Ranentska Mestna Koalitsiya) and the Party for Ranentsian Sovereignty (Партия Za Раненцска Суверенитет, Partiya Za Ranentska Suverenitet). The party elected Pavel Hadjiev, a former university professor who was infamously fired after delivering a lecture in support of an armed rebellion against the "...illegal foreign occupation of Ranentsi..." , as Chairman.
In the 1730 elections, the party won 3 seats in the National Assembly. In late 1731 AN, Parane Assembly Member Nikola Kostadinov proposed a vote for the Ranentsi Autonomous Region to be "politically separated" from Aerla. This proposal was marked with outrage by Conservative Assembly Member Joseph Lyon, who exclaimed "Your chieftans should've kept their tongues off our boots!" This caused a screaming match to ensue between the two before they were ejected from the chamber by the Sergeant-at-Arms.
In 1752 AN, Hadjiev would resign from the National Assembly and as Chairman of the party. This was due to increasing scrutiny from students movements, such as the evergrowing Golden Ribbon Movement. He would be replaced by Tvetsana Kirilova, who serves as the Assemblywoman for Kyustendil, who was much more receptive to the ideals of the Golden Ribbon Movement. The appointment of a woman as the leader of the party angered some of the more religiously conservative members, with some leaving the party outright.
