The Proclamation-class light aircraft carrier is a light aircraft carrier developed and constructed by the renowned Pontecorvo Firm, a major New Alexandrian shipbuilder and defense contractor. It is currently, (as of 1729 AN), the cornerstone of the Federal Navy of Nouvelle Alexandrie, with the lead ship of its class, the HMS Proclamacion being the flagship of the Federal Navy. Three other Proclamacion-class carriers were under consideration for procurement, but they were cancelled in 1718 AN, in favor of the Susa-class aircraft carrier, with 4 ordered in 1728 AN.
Operational Role
The Proclamation-class is primarily tasked with providing air support for fleet operations, ASW patrols, and power projection. Its capability to operate advanced fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters makes it a formidable asset in securing sea lanes and supporting ground operations. The class also plays a critical role in humanitarian missions and disaster response, showcasing its versatility beyond traditional combat roles.
Service History
Since its commissioning in 1712 AN, the Proclamation-class has been actively deployed in various theaters during the Wars of the Dispossessed, participating in joint exercises, maritime security operations, and international peacekeeping efforts. Its introduction has significantly bolstered Nouvelle Alexandrie's naval capabilities.
