Personal identification document in Sanama
There is a legal requirement for all persons resident in and visiting Sanama to hold a personal identification document. The rules differ depending on citizenship and residency status. All persons aged 12 or over are required to produce a valid personal identification document upon request from law enforcement. For Sanaman citizens, only the National Identity Card issued by the Citizenship and Immigration Bureau is considered a legal and universally valid personal identification document. For legal residents, a valid passport issued by the competent authority of the home nation in combination with a Sanaman Residency Card issued by the Citizenship and Immigration Bureau is a valid personal identification document. For visitors a valid passport in combination with an eTravel Sanama registration and a valid visa, if applicable, is required. Aliens lacking a valid personal identification document are subject to deportation.
Other personal identification documents
A legal personal identification document is a government requirement, not necessarily applicable to private services and institutions. Many establishments, including many banks, accept Sanaman driver's licenses as sufficient identification for most services. Many private companies also issue identity cards to their employees, some of which meet the legal standards and are therefore often accepted as identification documents even outside of the issuing company. However, to get these documents issued, the applicant needs to establish their identity, which requires the legal and government issued personal identification document.
