The 1721 Emergency National Referendum in Oportia was an emergency special national referendum conducted over two days, from 20.X.1722 AN to 22.X.1722 AN. This referendum represented a watershed moment in the nation's history, as it directly addressed the widespread unrest and demand for political change following the 1721 Oportian protests. Triggered by widespread dissatisfaction with the government's stance on international sanctions and exacerbated by economic dependence on raw materials, allegations of corruption, and proposed cutbacks in public services, the protests culminated in a significant call for systemic reform. The referendum, demanded by a significant portion of the populace and facilitated by the Oportian Elections Commission, aimed to address the immediate political crisis and set the course for future governance.

The referendum presented four critical questions to the electorate: the impeachment of Federal Representative César André and the entire Federal Cabinet, the advancement of general elections, and a national vote of confidence in Celine Beaumont as caretaker Federal Representative. The outcomes were unequivocal, with a staggering 92% voting for Andre's impeachment, 91% for the cabinet's removal, 89% in favor of moving the elections to early 1722 AN, and 68.7% expressing confidence in Beaumont. This decisive mandate underscored the electorate's demand for change and charted a new course for Oportian politics.
