Observatory Point

Observatory Point was founded in 2013, and is part of the Afrikaana University, situated in the village of Little Kol-pea.
Southern Sky Observation
From the observatory, student at the Afrikaana University are able to study the southern skies. The students are required to study these patterns as part of their classes.
Aurora Australis
The Aurora Australis, or Southern Lights, are a common sight in Afrikaana, popular with photographers, and a subject of study by the Afrikaana University. Although the phenomenon is visible to the naked eye, telescopes at the observatory are able to give high quality images of the aurorae.
