Ni Henchou (Yewlang: 尼佷稠; born 1998) is a Dauian professional footballer and futsal player who plays as a goalkeeper for Daau Super League club Bintang Lukana. A street player since young, Ni has incredible reflexes and agility.
Early life
Ni was born in Kyrtzhuosci and gained interest in football at the late age of 10. He would often play at the street soccer court near his house as a defender but moved into goals when a friend of his pointed out that his play style was similar to one of a goalkeeper's. From then on, Ni always played as a goalkeeper and played for the Xaxe Youth Futsal Team before making the jump to the squad's team for the Krasnovlac Futsal League.
Futsal career
International career
Ni made his international debut for Krasnovlac against Daau in a 6-5 win on 25 January 2023 in the 2023 SEEFF Futsal Championship. On 29 January 2023, Ni conceded only one goal against Zyrkistan to bring his country into the finals.
Football career
Sembalang Knights FC
Ni was signed for Daau Premier League newcomers the Sembalang Knights on a free to become a promising backup for veteran Azim Bakar. It was reported the main interest point for the red knights to sign him were "potential ability and reflexes" as the team lacked a 2nd choice goalkeeper.
Henchou would make his debut in the season opener against Thampines Rovers FC at home as the starting goalkeeper. Ni however would concede an early goal from a corner by Irwan Shan and was nearly subbed off by manager Sadif Sulaiman but was kept on for the remainder of the game. Henchou would then push up in the 90+5 minute during a corner kick and manage to score a stunning overhead bicycle kick goal to equalize the game in injury time. His heroics were quickly broadcasted around Daau and Krasno media therefore earning him the nickname "Flying Keeper".
Ni completed his first professional football season with a total of 5 cleansheets in 12 league appearances for the Sembalang Knights, clinching the goalkeeper of the year award along the way with 1 goal scored. Ni ended the season as champions of the Daau Premier League and became the first Krasno goalkeeper to do so. He also became the first Krasno keeper to score in the Daau football scene and also became the first Krasno keeper to be shortlisted as a player of the year.
Bintang Lukana
Henchou would sign for Bintang Lukana on the 4th of June 2023 on a mere 100k deal as his contract was nearing its end and he was keen on a move to a larger club and the possibility of playing in the AEFA Champions League.
