Moorlander Ale
Moorlander Ale is a top-fermented stout-style beer made with a brown malt that gives it a very distinctive dark colouration and flavor that is made in and popular among people in the Kingdom of Moorland. It has a higher alcohol content that pale ales, such as IPA's, usually between 8-10%. The beer was developed centuries ago and was considered more accessible by the poor population, whereas pale and hopped beers were more popular among the upper classes. Over the years however the stout eclipsed the popularity of the lighter beers and became the favorite among the Moorlands. In more recent years, with the increasing popularity of breweries, many different variations have been made of Moorlander Ale, including oatmeal, chocolate, coffee, oyster and even a pastry stout. Traditionally the ale has been served alongside hearty meat dishes, such as venison stew, a favorite of both Nova England and Moorland. It is now sold both locally and exported internationally.
