The military of Alrig consists of three branches, the national regular army and the coast guard which are maintained by the Council of Driftwood and the militias which are maintained by the circles.
Coast guard modernisation
In 1678 the Council of Driftwood awarded a contract to Gong Shipyards for the modernisation of the coast guard. A total of six corvettes of the Gong Customs Corvette Class Mk III, twelve patrol boats of the Gong Customs E-Patrol Boat Class Mk II and nine pilot boats of the Gong E-Pilot Boat Class Mk I were bought.
