The Imperial Armed Forces (IAF) is the land branch of the Jingdaoese military. Its history can be traced back to Batavian colonial times, when the first Batavians established South Batavia (what later would become Jingdao) and used local militia to guard important strategic locations. Official establishment happened in 43 EGA during the first year of the reign of the Kaiming Emperor, when formal independence made the establishment of land forces a real necessity.
