The Maoxiang Standard is a sets of rules and regulations in the Jingdaoese Empire on special and oversized transport, it is applied to both roads and vehicles. The primary goal of the standard is to make it possible to quickly move heavy military equipment such as rocket launch installations across the nation. A secondary goal is to move heavy and oversized civil equipment like excavators and constructions like wind turbines and prefabricated houses. While the standard allows super heavy transports, like normal vehicles in Jingdao, axle loads cannot exceed 10 tonnes. The Maoxiang Standard differentiates between three classes of vehicles:

  • Class 1 vehicles exceed normal vehicle sizes, but are no wider than 3m. Any single vehicle (motorcar or trailer) can be 16m long at most weighing no more than 40 tonnes, the total length of the combination (motorcars and trailers) can be 64m. Total weight of the combination can be no more than 80 tonnes.
  • Class 2.1 vehicle combinations, which are no wider than 4m. The length and weight of any single vehicle (motorcar or trailer) is unchanged from a Class 1 vehicle, the total length of the combination (motorcars and trailers) can be 128m. The total weight of the combination can be no more than 160 tonnes.
  • Class 2.2 single tractor trailer combinations, which are no wider than 5m, total length of the trailer is no more than 40m, total weight of the combination can be no more than 80 tonnes. Must be accompanied by at least two pilot cars.

Vehicles that do not adhere to the Maoxiang Standard require a special permit for every trip. Likewise, Maoxiang Standard vehicles also require special permits for all parts of the trip that fall outside the Maoxiang network. Class 2 vehicles are only allowed to transport indivisible cargo.
