"Manggol", officially translated as "Our Country", is the national anthem of Yakka. It was composed in 1742 when the Former Ashinthael Civil War was reaching it's conclusion in favour of the Yakkans and was adopted as the country's state anthem during the conclusion of the war in 1743.
Etymology
"Manggol" is a Romanised transliteration of "Our Country"; the song is also known by it's explicit Ieggol beppasso ko or "For Yakka's glory and pride".
The transliteration of the English title of the anthem strictly derives from the Yakkanese name of the song manggol. Mann being a suffix "our" and ggol being a prefix "country".
History
During the climax of the Former Ashinthael Civil War, the Yakkans were on course to full control over the territory which was described as an "almost ensured victory" for the Yakkans. It was during this time period when Paek Ming Su and Cheu Ke Jang of the Yakkan Command worked together to compose a victory anthem for when the war eventually concluded. In 1743, General Secretary Kang Min Chol raised the victory anthem to a higher importance as the country's official national anthem.
The complete version of "Manggol" consists of two verses with the last four bars of the second verse repeated. However, this is an uncommon case which occurs only during the country's national events. It is usually customary for only the first verse to be sung with the last far bars sang twice

The blood of our friends and family. With our heart and soul we forever sing, For Yakka's glory and pride.
From Chingseu to Kang in it's glory. The Kang Family forever in our grace, We fight to live another day.
We'll never waiver our country's peace. With our heart and soul we forever sing, For Yakka's glory and pride. |
