The Leng Corps, is a paramilitary formation raised on Leng from meritorious subjects conscripted into the State Guard of Elluenuueq. On account of the unforgiving Arctic climate, entirely unsuited to almost all forms of human endeavour, the "corps" comprises of a regimental trained band, whose duties, beyond guarding facilities associated with the Boreal Air Bridge, include patrolling on the dreadful plateau of Leng, the defence of the few sparsely inhabited communities, and providing support to the Benacian Labour Reserve on the occasion that it is necessary to quell disorder at the reform settlements established in the high north, on the edge of ice sheets within which the island is forever trapped.
