The Kells, sometimes referred to as Kells, is a territory of the Kingdom of Moorland. The territory is a small trading port located along the western banks of the Strait of Haifa. The territory was obtained during Operation Straight Arrow. The region is quite rural with most of the population located in the capital at Inverkell. The only other sizable population center is at Everhart, located along Loch Caerdoon. The indigenous Qeltois tribes, who are friendly to Moorland, seasonally move through the area with nomadic encampments.
In 1737, Moorland established what it dubbed the "green line" of the Trans-Keltian Express, a spur line from the Dunn Mountains Viaduct that extends west to the borders of Nevermoor and then crosses the Green to Inverkell. This is a non-civilian line that runs an armored train and cars to provide support services to the Kells and move goods to the port along the Strait. Since the line runs through unclaimed territory, it is subject to raids by remnant bands of Fuath. But the Qeltois living in the area also provide occasional assistance by keeping raiders at bay, allowing the train to pass unmolested. It has become an important route, as it is much faster to get goods to the Strait than the long sea route, and much more cost-effective than using heavy transport aircraft.
