Isenhorn
The Isenhorn is the tallest mountain in Lac Glacei. Its name means "icy meadow" in Lac Glaceian. The mountain and its environs are permanently protected as a national scenic treasure and are part of Glacei National Forest. Its peak reaches a height of 12,290 feet (3746 meters). The nearest inhabited village is Isenburgh, eponymously named for the mountain that towers over it. Mountain climbers often stay in the village before making the ascent, which has helped make it a popular tourist destination. As only camping is allowed in Glacei National Forest, the village is also a hub for campers to buy goods and gear. The Isenhorn itself is accessible to most mountain climbers and guides often lead treks to the summit during the warm summer months when snowfall is at its lowest. The mountain is closed to hikers in the winter due to treacherous conditions.
