The Ironshield Guardian Air Defense System is a mobile counter-unmanned aerial system and counter rocket, artillery, and mortar defense platform jointly developed by Rimarima Armaments and Javelin Industries between 1745 AN and 1747 AN to address the asymmetric threat posed by low-cost drones and loitering munitions at dramatically reduced cost-per-interception compared to traditional missile-based systems. The system combines twin 35mm autocannons firing programmable airburst ammunition with an integrated array of four 30-kilowatt laser modules, achieving engagement costs of €225-375 against medium drones compared to €100,000+ for conventional missile interception, while maintaining an effective range of 4.5 kilometers for the gun system and 1.5 kilometers for directed energy engagement.
Currently undergoing operational testing with the Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie, the Ironshield Guardian features the RAC-35 "Stormbreaker" twin-barrel autocannon capable of 1,200 rounds per minute combined rate of fire, the JI-APR-7 "Hawkeye" AESA radar with 360-degree coverage, and the Artemis Mk.III AI-enhanced fire control system providing sub-2-second reaction times from detection to engagement. The 28-ton platform utilizes a hybrid diesel-electric powerplant delivering 850 horsepower for a road speed of 85 km/h and operational range of 650 kilometers, with planned initial production of 50 units per year beginning in 1748 AN and ramping to 150 units annually by 1750 AN for a target fleet of 600 systems.
