History of the Davinson Islands
- The Davinsons has been around for more than a century and was a result of a sudden volcanic activity in the region which formed a total of 7 islands.
History
Early history
The islands were originally uninhabited and only had a population of wild animals such as birds and chickens living on the islands, mainly being Tuan. The islands were originally populated with the Davinson Crabs too but were gone extinct due to the sudden arrival of the Ma'wti people.
The Ma'wti people were wandering sailors who wandered around on the ocean finding villages to plunder and destroy to gain resources for their needs. The Ma'wti's landed on the Big Island originally and became the first humans to step foot on the islands, they would then settle down as agreed by their leader as he thought the islands were a good place to be used as a central hub for their plundering activities due to its location and it being an obscure island group. The Ma'wti's never explored the outer islands on only stayed on Tuan and Lapang whilst they were active on the island. However their time on the islands would not last long as it was invaded by the Awtese just aroung 5 years into their settlement as an act of revenge. All the Ma'wti people were either driven off the island or were killed to death in the Awtai Battle. The Awtese were described as the massive intruders which took everything they could and left with the big island deserted.
The Awtese left a small group on the island to look after it and also look to inhabit the island. The island slowly grew with life as more trees and flowers grew around and covering the old battleground. The population then skyrocketed on both islands and most of the tribesmen were forced to live on the outer islands as a result.
Daau exploration
In 1609, the then newly freed Daau would send off Jami Davinson to find new land for them to conquer and possibly colonize for Daau. He would set sail on the 6th of September in 1609 to help Daau gain land for the future. Jami's voyage would take over 9 months to arrive. As the islands were the first thing Jami saw in sight and saw how big the group of islands was, he declared that his voyage would stop there and this would be his biggest project ever.
Davinson would land in Shore Sandy, modern-day Sandy Beach, west of the Mountain Tuan. Along with his team and a group of explorers. The group would set up their camp further inland whilst exploring the surrounding areas. He would name the island Tuan as it means Luck in Matabese. Following the successful exploration of the outer islands which were found to be uninhabited, the team would plant Dauian flags on the shore. They would set sail to T'awtai Island next in hopes of expanding the region. Only Tuan and T'awtai were described as livable.
Tuan was found to be the home of the Awtese, the tribesmen who lived on the island. Jami and his team would live and explore with them and would slowly learn more about the island whilst making new friends. Jami also married a local Awtese woman. Davinson would remain on the island till the end of his life as others set sail to return.
Jami sent a group of returnees from the exploration to inform Daau of the success of exploration and they would arrived in 1610 and were crowned as local heroes following their return from their exploration, current Daau international Jensen Roland's great grandfather was a part of those that returned. Daau would send a small group of people to set up the Dauian control and a local government in 1623. The project was declared successful as the locals understood how it worked and slowly incorporated it into modern society. Daau would however withdraw from the island 2 years later as they deemed it too unstable to keep such a territory whilst being thousands of miles away.
Independence
In 1626, the Dauian forces retreated from the islands due to the lack of funding and the instability of power in the islands plus the fear of an internal civil war. The Dauian government announced that they would be retracting all future projects on the islands and left all infrastructure behhind to the disposal of the local tribesmen. As the locals founded their own government, the forces slowly retreated behind the scenes and saw the tribesmen hold a bonfire in memory of their services to allow the locals to have a better life. The island's government has sworn to keep in contact with Daau incase of any emergencies or incidents and has since kept a very tight bond with Daau despite being miles away.
The island nation has since adapted their Dauian-Davinson Islands flag as their official flag.
