The Great Clemency of 1727 was a surprise declaration by the Basilinna Esmeralda al-Osman that took effect on 1.XIII.1727.

Effects

The Imperial Decree was an exercise of the Basilinna of her sovereign powers under the Magna Carta of 1667, specifically, Article 16: "The Basileus orders amnesty, pardon, commutation of punishments and rehabilitation."

First time non-violent offenders were released, and their official records expunged. Fines were not remitted.
