The Ghul Confederation was an Umraist Taityr tribal confederacy that operates in the border region of The Green known as Vizia. Proclaimed in 1735 AN, it entered into conflict with Aerla after the raiding of two border towns in the Six Parishes region. While dominated by the Ghul tribe and its leader Ali Ghul Khan, the confederation consists of a total of nine distinct tribes.
The Confederacy collapsed after the death of Ali Ghul Khan in early 1737 AN during an Aerlan Air Force raid on his camp.
Leadership
The confederation had a very limited system of governance. Khagan Ali Ghul Khan, leader of his eponymous tribe, served as an absolute leader over all 9 tribes. Each tribe was required to contribute a share of men to the Confederation's army. While no formal legislation exists, an informal council of tribal leaders existed to advise the Khagan on domestic matters. There also exists a council of generals to advise the Khagan on military strategy, though this is almost completely dominated by members of the Ghul.
Alleged ties with the Confederacy of the Dispossessed
Aerlan media has cited many similarities with the confederation's operations and those practiced by the Confederacy of the Dispossessed. Although sharing many pan-Greenist ideas with the Confederacy, Ali stated that "The Dispossessed is an army of savage polytheists who act no more moral than the empires they have time and time again failed to topple."
