Etymology
The name Forsted is derived from the Norse for Forest Town. The ancient name of the city is Forlond, which has the meaning of Forest Port in Menelmacari.
History
Founded centuries ago during the Menelmecari era as a humble trading outpost and port, Forsted gradually evolved into a bustling port city due to its strategic location at the crossroads of land and sea. The city's proximity to the dense and resource-rich Balar Forest has shaped its identity, fostering a harmonious relationship with nature within the inhabitants.
Economy
Forsted's economy is intricately tied to shipbuilding and maritime trade, bolstered by the forest's resources and its proximity to the sea. The city is especially known for its shipbuilding. Renowned throughout Three Kingdoms, Forsted is a hub of shipbuilding excellence. Its skilled craftsmen construct seaworthy vessels, ranging from sturdy merchant ships to elegant galleons. Of high importance is the timber trade.
