The Farrar Islands was a group of seven volcanic islands, located in the eastern part of Micras. The seven islands were spread over several hundred miles of ocean and have a total land area of about 47 square kilometres (18 sq mi). A few months after discovery, the islands sunk killing all inhabitants of the islands.

Geography

Climate

The Farrar Islands enjoyed the year-round warm weather, with wet summers and drier winters. The rainy season was from November through to March and summer from April to October when temperatures average 25 to 35 °C (77 to 95 °F) and humidity averages can exceed 95%. Temperatures in the winter range from 17 to 25 °C (63 to 77 °F).

Politics

The Farrar Islands had the smallest population of any democracy on Micras. The leader was called the governor and the parliament only had four seats, representing each populated island.

Military

The territory was an overseas territory of the Florian Republic and the Florian Republic was responsible for the defence of the islands before they disappeared.

Population

The islands only had a population of a mere 1,117 people before the islands disappeared.

Languages

The Islanders spoke English as well as a local language.

Education

Education was free and compulsory between the ages of five and sixteen.

Telephones

The Farrar Islanders used a manual telephone system.

Radio

There was no broadcast station. Foreign stations were picked up on shortwave radio.

Transport

All settlers of the Farrar Islands arrived by boat or ship. The Farrar Islands did not have an airport, airstrip or seaport in its time of existence.
