The EzBoard Data Loss Incident, sometimes referred to as the Ezboard Attack or the Ezboard Hack, was an attack on Ezboard's servers by a hacker on May 31, 2005, that resulted in the deletion of thousands of posts, particularly within the micronational community, which heavily relied on the company's infrastructure for day-to-day operations. Many archived and active micronations irrecoverably lost a large volume of legal, cultural and historical content as a result of the hack.

The destruction of content particularly affected the micronations of Attera, Gotzborg, and Shireroth, all of which lost important data as a result of the hack, though the initial post in some threads was able to be recovered, yielding some comfort to the citizens of each micronation.

Gotzborg was one of the most seriously affected by the hack, as none of the information at that micronation's Ezboard forum was able to be recovered, though some citizens were able to recover very limited information from their browser caches in the wake of the incident. While the loss of the vast majority of its archive was a serious blow to the micronation, its founder, August Charles II decided, in stark contrast to most community leaders, to continue the use of Ezboard as a forum provider, which Gotzborg remained with until its April 2007 hiatus.

The hack resulted in many Micras micronations moving to free php-based bulletin board systems, while others, such as Stormark moved to paid services for greater reliability or otherwise set up their own hosting services that included such php-based systems. It also created a new atmosphere of security within the community and respect for the preservation of data, resulting in the end of micronations employing denial of service activities such as the "Spam Cannon".
