Eastmoorland calendar
The Eastmoorland Calendar (also known as the Nova English calendar) is the official calendar of Nova England. Based on the twenty four day Tarsican cycle, the calendar charts fifteen of these cycles with each forming a calendar month and a year consisting of three hundred and sixty days. Due to the calendar being based on the Tarsican cycle, individual dates/months have no bearing on the current season. In effect this means that dates only repeat on the same position of the seasonal year once every 487 years.
History
Early Nova English tribes utilised several forms of Tarsican Calendars, however it was not until the creation of the Nova English Kingdom under the Saint King John I. That a new calendar was decreed as the sole and only calendar for use within the Kingdom. This continued on until the reign of King Josephus I, which saw the introduction of the Gregorian calendar.
Years are counted on the calendar after the death day of the Saint King John I, with this day becoming 0AJ (Aefter John) and subsequent years carrying the ‘AJ’ suffix. Whilst years prior to his death day carry the BJ (Beforan John) suffix.
Months
All months are 24 days long and are divided into four, six day weeks that correspond to each new phase of the moon.
DatesDates are written Day-Month-Year, with the month being displayed either in long form or numerical form. OOCThe Nova English calendar follows the same basis as the Norton calendar but rather than years equating to Gregorian months. The Nova English calendar fixes its year as a thirty day period with the start point being 19/08/1936. Like the Norton calendar each Gregorian day equates to 12 Micran days.
