Confederate Navy is the national navy and naval services branch of the Ciric armed forces, and is a part of the Ciric Confederacy. Following the nation's steps to de-isolate itself from its southern islands, the navy transitioned from a national green-water navy into a blue-water navy, as it was integrated into the Great Southern Armada of the Union Australis. The Confederate Navy is somewhat more closely linked to the specific goings-on of the Armada, with the Black Armada of Caradia being slightly more insular. However, as the navies now have operational integration, their large-scale ships are disallowed from committing to significant operations individually.

Because of its relative peacefullness and resource-availability, the confederacy has been able to maintain a rather large fleet to comprise the Confederate Navy, which, when added to the similar situation afforded the Caradians, allows the integrated Great Southern Armada to field a very large (relatively speaking) fleet. Until recently, neither navy has been forced to keep up with losses related to war (except for a few small corvettes and patrol boats lost to pirates), though recent developments have meant that the Caradian fleet have had to rely more and more on the superior technology of the confederates to keep their large ships running cheaply, notably using the confederate's fusion reactors in their aircraft carriers. While not all Caradian ships have been integrated, the majority of ships of cruiser size or large have confederate-supplied systems for sustainable running.

The Confederate Navy is primarily based in the confederacy, but it uses Porto Vormouna, and the nearby Argint Citadel as naval bases and docks, and also employs three mobile naval command centres, two of which are currently stationed at strategic locations in the antarctic, and one of which is located off the Zsharran Coast claimed by Caradia, in the region of Kulussi. The Confederate Navy also stations a command ship with each of its major naval battle fleets to provide office space and a command network for the battle fleet, as well as logistics vessels and cargo ships to maintain supply lines.

Command Structure

The Confederate Navy is subject to the command of the Admiralty based in Stonewall, Wrighthaven, which consists of the general naval staff, the Prelate of the Navy (currently Prelate Sang Doc), and the admirals of the two main fleets of the navy. The Admiralty is responsible for the implementation of the military policies created by the Directorate of the Military, currently headed by Vangh Tet, and also for creating and implementing independent naval policies. The main naval command structure is broken into three pieces:

Confederate Fleet Command: Responsible for the maintenance of the main fleet of the Navy.
Confederate Strategic Command: Responsible for special and strategic naval assets, such as submarines, small craft, and unorthodox warfare situations.
Confederate Naval Integration Command: Responsible for the integration of the Confederate Navy with other branches.
