The Frostmongers are a privateering group located in the extreme south of Micras near and in the permanent sea ice-covered antarctic region, though their semi-official name is the "Southern Maritime Mercenary Company". The Frostmongers are most famous among the Ciric and Caradian navies and those countries' civilian service boat operators because of the Frostmongers' tendency to employ piracy in the south.

The group was formed in early 1676 in Caradia, when the nation began to open itself to foreign nations. Around the same time as LONSS began, a group of deserters from the Black Armada hijacked a small contingent of armada ships and fled the island. It is known that the group took in members of LONSS once the terrorist group had been dispersed, as well as survivors from Ald-Arbora who were elsewhere when the city was destroyed, and a small number of deserters form the Ciric navy.

The group maintains a façade of a mercenary company by offering contracts for their services to private individuals sailing in the antarctic regions, which they are loyal to to a degree. However, their legitimate mercenary work is far less relevant or widespread as their piracy, which targets any and all shipping vessels entering southern waters.

The Frostmongers are known to be equipped mainly with stolen fishing boats and trawlers retrofitted with artillery cannons and harpoon guns. They have also been noted to be in possession of weaponised barges and transport ships, as well as a number of small patrol boats. They are equipped with small arms manufactured both for private individuals and for the armed forces of the confederacy and Caradia. Their "flagship" is a hijacked Caradian Trăsnet Class Destroyer which was named the CSS Centurion, but was renamed by the Frostmongers as the Bloodborne.
