Arvidsudde (Arviddian for "Arvid's headland"), often shortened to Arvid is the capital city of the Barbarian Republic. The city has great historical value as it was the birthplace of Nathaniel and the harbour city from which the Jingdaoese Empire levied a toll on Alexandrian shipping passing the Strait of Barbary. The city is located directly on the strait, overlooking the city of Naval on the other side.
The city was first placed on the map by the Mengjiang Emperor in the Chidao month of 1591. Before that, it was a Norse village, related to Storish settlements in South Cibola, but without Vanic influences. The language spoken in Arvidsudde is similar to Army Crandish, which is spoken in Elwynn and historically in Hurmu, but they developed independent from each other. During the South Batavian period in Cibola the city saw an influx of South Batavian, but also of Elwynnese and Hurmese immigrants. One person who frequented Arvidsudde was Arviður Andelarjunarbroðir. Even though he never had a formal role of importance in the city, and the city was founded centuries before his arrival, there are still some who entertain the idea that the city was named after him. Like the Elwynnese and the Hurmese, the Jingdaoese also tried to put their stamp on Arvidsudde, as they had issues with its pacifism, its free sexual morals and its celebration of its entire history. To this day the people of Arvidsudde refuse to tie themselves to one point of their history, celebrating the Elwynnese, Hurmese, Jingdaoese and Batavian rulers that enriched their history.
