Andilar (city)

Andilar is the capital city and namegiver of the Andilarian Empire. It is located on the island of Adaria in the Great Western Sea near the Keltian East Coast.

History

The city of Andilar was first founded as a suburb of the town of New Alora within the Uantír kingdom. Though New Alora remained a prominent city, especially following it renaming to Aydaria under the Gerenian occupation, Andilar remained rather small and especially became known as a hub for some international banks and trading offices. The Iron Company opened shop in Andilar under its agreement with Palesmenia, and from that moment on the town became to grow. In the civil war that led to the fall of the Palesmenian regime, Andilar was the only city that remained largely intact. This enabled Andilar to quickly establish a dominant position over the island. Remaining Iron Company merchants, ensured continued operation of the important industry and commerce within the city. During the Warring Islands Conflict and Operation Môr Rhyddid, the port of Andilar provided refuge, refueling and a safe harbour for the allied vessels. During this time, a significant Calbain pressence was established on the island, and especially in the city.
