1755 Aemilian Restoration
The 1755 Aemilian restoration refers to the restoration of the Confoederatio Aemilia in the year 1755. It was a response to the 1754 Agricultural reorganisation in the Lanzerwald which caused a lot of unrest in the Lanzerwald Republic. Princess Emilia Antoinette agreed with many points of the agricultural reorganisation but used the discontent to regain power she lost following the 1751 military coup in the Confoederatio Aemilia. In an ad on national television she spoke to the nation and with the slogan "Reorganisation or just cringe?" she gained a lot of popular support. A lot of people still had nostalgic feelings towards her rule and people protesting the reorganisation in front of the building of the Volksrat added a restoration of the monarchy as one of their demands. Prime minister Hedy von Rossmarkt, who was a long-time supporter of the princess did nothing to stop the protesters and without instructions from their political leaders, police and army were unsure how to respond.
