1720 second Valeser constitutional crisis
The 1720 second Valeser constitutional crisis was the second constitutional crisis in Vales during 1720. The crisis was triggered by an invitation for a state visit from Kurum Ash-Sharqia. Due to the unwritten constitution of Vales, it was unclear who should attend such an event. With the Council of the Twelve acting as collective head of state, the conflict was between the council as a whole and the Chief of the Vales, the ceremonial chairperson of the council. While several members of the council held the view that the entire council should go, as collective head of state, several other members including the current Chief considered the visit to be just the kind of ceremonial duty the Chief should undertake.
Resolution and aftermath
With the mediation of the President of the Assembly, the Council of the Twelve finally agreed, with a majority decision, that Vales would be represented by the Chief of the Vales, Yll Rama, and the vice chief Asbourag Demirjian.
