The 1715 Aqaba riots erupted on 20.XIV.1715 AN, following a closely contested match between the Raspur Militants and the home side which had resulted in a surprise defeat for the visitors - an occurrence that stirred the visiting fans and the local Babkhan community into an outburst of xenophobic fury and mob violence directed against the Constancian inhabitants of the city.

Reports from local news sources indicated that the disturbances on the terrace had begun from the moment of the winning goal by the Constancian side, with the sound of gunfire resounding from the Aqaba Sports Coliseum within twenty minutes of the final whistle.

Whilst defeat in this game had not endangered the Raspurids progression the next round of the 1712–1720 Cycle of the AEFA Champions' League, it had come in the wake of two uninspiring draws at the hands of teams comprised of national minorities in the former Babkhan satrapies of Parestan and Vipia. As it was therefore, losing to Sýndesmos Athlitikós Aqaba came to be seen as symptomatic of a decline in the quality of Raspurid football. This, combined with resentments stirred up by the Babkhan revolt in the Suren Confederacy, proved to be more than enough to provoke the ire of the fans.
