The 1673 Northern Evacuation was an organised withdrawal of Sanaman military forces from Lower Highpass. During 1673 the military situation in the region became more and more strained. Finally, the Sanaman authorities needed to act and therefore withdrew all forces from the area. The withdrawal was accompanied with an offer that all people in the area with Ama, Sani or Cisamarrese as their mother tongue would be given automatic citizenship upon application at the border.
