The partly is supportive of the current government, and the constitutional and territorial reforms. Party leader Jacobo Castrigo Álvarez is the current Minister of Foreign affairs in the government. The party is also highly supportive of the Batavian Confederation. The party is ideologically centrist, and is based on Batavian-democratic principles. Factions within the party range from Conservatism and (Neo)liberalism to Social Democracy. Political commentator Tobias de Prater described the party as "not so much ideological, but rather based on personality, either nationally or within the local communities".
Voorwaarts Batavië! is a sister party of the Liberadosan ruling party Partido de Liberación Nacional.
