In 2017, The Florian Football Association announced proposals to restructure the Florian Football League system.

Florian League One

In the proposals, the Florian Football Association announced plans for a third tier competition, Florian League One. The proposal was unanimously supported and the competition will debut in the 2018-19 Season. In the League, eight new teams will feature as well as four Florian Premier League academy sides.

Expansion of the Premier League

From the 2018-19 season, the Florian Premier League will be expanded to solve issues with fixtures encountered in the inaugural season. In the process, two teams from the Florian Championship will be automatically promoted. South Cosmos and Mossley Town will be invited to replace these teams the league, to make the number back to 12.
