Opsithe
Opsithe is the planet farthest from the star Atos.
North Polar Regions

The North Polar Regions of Opsithe are dominated by a vast, continuous cap of bright volatile ice spread across heavily fractured high-latitude terrain. The highest northern latitudes are covered in dense white deposits cut by long fissures, shallow scarps, enclosed basins, and broad cracked plains. Several circular depressions remain visible beneath or within the polar cover, and darker pits interrupt the frozen surface in scattered sectors. The polar cap is not smooth. It is broken by uneven margins, collapsed troughs, and roughened fields of frozen material extending toward the middle latitudes.
Across the lower edge of the northern cap, exposed ground emerges through the ice in irregular belts and cratered transition zones. Some areas preserve dark basin floors and broad structural breaks beneath thinner frozen cover, while other sectors are marked by more uniform white mantling. The result is a high-latitude landscape defined by permanent ice, brittle crust, and long-term tectonic disruption.
Equatorial Regions
The Equatorial Regions of Opsithe are dominated by pale frozen plains, broad dark basins, cratered lowlands, and long tectonic fractures extending across the middle latitudes. Much of the equatorial surface is covered in bright frost or volatile-rich mantling, but large darker fields remain exposed between the lighter deposits. These darker regions include basin floors, subdued crater interiors, and fractured rocky ground set within the broader frozen surface.
Several major impact structures define this region. Broad circular basins, smaller crater clusters, and softened ejecta fields are distributed across the equatorial belt, while long linear and branching fractures cut through older terrain in multiple directions. Pale blue and faint lilac-toned areas appear across parts of the middle latitudes, suggesting compositional variation within the frozen surface, especially where different volatile ices or frost deposits are concentrated. The equator contains the broadest uninterrupted exposures of Opsithe’s ancient crust beneath its bright outer cover and preserves much of the planet’s large-scale impact and tectonic history.
Southern Polar Regions
The Southern Polar Regions of Opsithe are bright, heavily glaciated, and more irregular in structure than a single uniform cap. Broad frozen plains, enclosed icy basins, broken margins, and rough transition belts extend across the southern high latitudes. Large circular depressions remain visible within the frozen terrain, and in several places the ice gathers in low basins while thinning across rougher uplands and crater rims.
The southern polar zone is also marked by widespread fracture systems and broken shelf-like surfaces along the edge of the cap. Darker exposed ground remains visible near the lower southern latitudes and within some enclosed depressions, producing strong contrast between white frozen surfaces and the older terrain beneath. Taken as a whole, the southern hemisphere presents Opsithe as a world of permanent volatile ice, cratered plains, and a crust repeatedly broken by stress across a deeply frozen surface.
Mythology
In the religious cosmology of the Reformed Stripping Path, Opsithe is venerated as both a planetary body and the divine embodiment of harvest, fertility, and the nurturing cycles of nature. As the Lady Divine of Harvest and Abundance, Opsithe represents the sacred rhythm of sowing, growth, and reaping—the continuum by which life is sustained and renewed across mortal and divine realms.
According to canonical tradition, Opsithe emerged from the fertile soils of Micras itself, her form arising from the pulse of life that stirs within the earth. She is regarded not as a distant cosmic force, but as an ever-present maternal spirit—one whose blessings are felt in each seed that sprouts and each table filled. Myths such as the Hymn of Opsithe emphasize her role as a compassionate provider and stern guardian of balance, reminding mortals that gratitude and stewardship are the cornerstones of abundance.
Worship of Opsithe is particularly strong in agrarian communities like those surrounding Sylvapolis, where the Mystery of the Verdant Embrace maintains her rites through seasonal festivals, planting rituals, and communal acts of care for the land. Her festivals—especially Chag Tvuah and Panagia Therizis—celebrate the reciprocity between humanity and the natural world, reinforcing her teachings of harmony, humility, and renewal.
Through her association with the distant, ice-laced planet Opsithe, whose dim twilight and crystalline features evoke the mystery of life's dormancy and quiet potential, she is understood as a patient and generous divine force—a cosmic gardener whose touch sustains the world’s abundance, and whose silence instructs the soul to listen to the rhythms beneath its feet.
