The Obedience Machine was a high-tech computer which used news reports and other electronic means to spy on the Jingdaoese population. Place with too much danger of revolting or impure ideas were destroyed to prevent the idea of dangerous thoughts. The Machine was also responsible for the nuclear destruction of many large cities in 5983 ASC.
