History
The award was created during the first edition of the Mhazar Vegnese Film Festival, with the aim of celebrating excellence in film acting and honoring Marmo Cunno, considered one of the greatest actors in the history of Vegnese cinema. Since its inception, the Marmo Cunno Prize has established itself as one of the most prestigious awards at the festival, reflecting the event's focus on the artistic quality of acting performances.
The trophy
Marmo Cunno Prize
The Marmo Cunno Prize trophy is a golden sculpture depicting the face of Marmo Cunno, portrayed with a composed and intense expression. Over the years, the bust has become an iconic symbol of the festival.
Marma Cunna Prize
Starting with the inaugural edition, a female version of the award was also established, called the Marma Cunna Prize, awarded to the best leading actress. The award retains the same symbolic and prestigious value, celebrating female acting excellence in Venetian and international cinema. The name, as well as the design of the trophy, pays homage to the figure and legacy of Marmo Cunno, reinterpreted in a feminine way.
