The Sanpantul Air Self-Defense Force, also known as SASDF (Sanpogo: 空自 Kūji) in the local language, is the air warfare branch of Sanpantul. It was founded on 1 Liebruary 1674, about a year before the nation officially became a member of the MCS. It is one of the three main branches and the third largest branch. The air force is tasked with protecting Sanpantul's airspace. In the past, there was also a partial space defense mission, but a separate branch was created for space defense. It used to have 80,000 staff, but with the reform it dropped to 46,000.
The SMSDF was restructured after the Sanpo-Çakar War, and many of its commanders were purged from the war. The air force is mostly used in the Captive Sea for aerial interception, mostly against Confederacy of the Dispossessed pirate ships. The SASDF is provided with competent personnel through the Royal Forces Academy.
