Krufn are a species of large black, crow-like birds that originate from Northern Apollonia, notably the eponymously named nation of Krufnsilfr. They have a wingspan of up to five meters, a long, sharp beak, and produce a shrieking sound that is said to be able to render those who hear it either deaf or insane. Their origin is unknown, but possibly linked to the Ancient Magic that housed in the caves under Crowsilver. In the past, the Krufn were contained by the Great Wall of Aegir, which separated the realms of evil to the realms of men.

When the Years of Magic ended on Northern Apollonia and the wall of Aegir fell into disarray, the Krufn migrated to Keltia. There are sights of Krufn and their large nests in the lands of Andilar, especially the Dragonspire Islands, where they are rumoured to be in the service of the Emperor of the Black Mountain. Currently, the number of remaining Krufn is unknown.
